What we wore: On sunny saturday

We had the most glorious weather here in Liverpool over the weekend (quite freakish for this time of year!). It was so warm I changed into a light cotton summer dress and fetched my sunglasses and sun cream after taking these photos.

A fair amount of time this weekend was spent eating ice cream, lunch and breakfast, reading, and giggling on our rooftop. It's a very peaceful place to be, so high up in the middle of a city center. I'm so glad we made the most of the sun as it's reverted back to colder rainy weather today...typical English switching weather!

Last week I decided to take the plunge and hand wash a bag of clothes that had been sitting in the back of my wardrobe for more than a year (I hate hand-washing!). I was so pleased I did as I re-discovered this amazing Celia Birtwell for Topshop blouse  I had completely forgotten about. Next on my to do list is an even bigger case of clothes to repair /hem which I'm going to try and crack on with as soon as I have the time. Anyone else tend to leave these things for longer than they should?

I thought Ross looked great in his chosen outfit, I love his vintage check western shirt... it even has embroidery detail under the collar. Ross finds it quite hard to find unique menswear on the high street so incorporating some vintage into his wardrobe is a great way to acheive a more interesting individual look.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend? :)

TOPSHOP S/S 2011: Swedish Summer

Last sunday me and Ross had a browse around the city where we casually looked through some high street shops. We mainly buy vintage clothes for ourselves so this made a nice change!

Topshop definitely stood out for me, they just seem to get better and better season by season. I have been buying Topshop clothing since I was around 13/14 and it still remains my favourite on the high street.

They have interpreted the 70's trend so well. I posted a few weeks back on their seventies girl story and have since been inspired by their softer take on the seventies Swedish summer collection. This collection is so pretty I could really picture myself running through meadows in the summer wearing these beautiful clothes! The collection is packed with many of my favorite things; homespun fabrics, broderie anglaise cottons, crochet, etched leather, straw hats and wooden heels, 70's denim, billowing blouses, floral prints, crisp white and ocean blues. Summer just needs to arrive now!

Have a happy weekend!

Seventies Girl

I have fallen in love with the new Spring/Summer Topshop Collection what do you think? The pretty embroidered denim, printed floral shirts and strappy clog sandals just make me want to jump into summer outfits right now!

I'm loving these wide leg printed pants, they look so stylish and comfy at the same time. Which ones to choose... any favourites?

We are holding a beautiful tapestry bag giveaway over at the lovely cakies blog, be sure to check it out for a chance to win!
