What with all the awful pointless riots breaking out across London our blog has not been our main priority. For now I just wanted to share these pretty photographs by Lukasz Wierzbowski which I came across through the lovely Daydream Lily blog. She takes such pretty creative photographs... I especially like the ones with flowers and net curtains.

Lets hope things improve here in London, Its such a sad site to see.

Ben Sandler: Perfectly Retro

How picture perfect are these photos by Paris based photographer Ben Sandler? I discovered his website a few days ago whilst searching for vintage style photographs. I love the perfect hair in place styling, the humor and seemingly dark story behind each picture. Of course the amazing vintage interiors and styling went down a treat. Very Mad Men i would say, what do you think?

I want!

photo of Graham & Brown floral vintage style car” Title=

Whilst browsing through the wonderful  Poppytalk blog today I was blown away by this amazing image. It's an ad for Graham & Brown. Don't you think its pretty amazing? What an innovative way to promote their wallpaper designs. I could really imagine myself in this car, this idea will definitely be sticking with me!

Sorry we have been lacking on the post front this week... It's been a bit hectic. We have lots of wonderful stock to fill our vintage store with, just gotta list the beauties now! There will be an update very soon.

Liverpool roaming...

Outside our studio.

We woke early Saturday morning to leave the city, but unfortunately wintery weather prevailed. Our plans for a shoot foiled, we wandered about town & took a few snaps. Marisa looked beautiful in her new dress which she bagged in the sale at Cath Kidson last weekend.

After our hands (all four of them) were numb with cold we went for a cosy lunch at Leaf cafe on bold st & ordered some wonderful piping hot french onion soup & sausage sandwiches. Mmmm!

Poor Marisa had been aching to get her hair done for ages. But was finally able to book her appointment for Sunday, and with the help of her trusty hairdresser wrestled her out of control fringe into submission.

We saw Black Swan which we both enjoyed but I was glad it was over 'cos I found it so intense! Really good though. Surreal, tragic, fantastical. Natalie Portman deserves credit for her performance - we think!... Recommend a watch!

Hope you all had a good weekend? If you've seen Black Swan be good to know what you thought?

Pretty packaging...

As a print designer I get very inspired by different types of packaging, particularly from Asian medicine.  I wanted to share these beautiful images with you. Some friends of mine recently took a trip to Sri Lanka, and when flicking through their photos I found myself captivated by these charming bottles. I'm really fond of these images; the old worn looking printed papers clashing against each other, the small graphic number labels, the vintage asthetic and the mysterious feeling of not knowing what was inside.

These photos were taken in a Sri Lankan ayurreda "pharmacy," situated within a herb garden, where all the ingredients come from. These bottles contain ayurredic oils, Sri Lanka's main practiced and traditional medicine. Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!

Were busy this week preparing lots of new stunning clothes for our store
These should be up for grabs next week!

Over Christmas...

Hope you've all had an amazing christmas? We had a pretty busy one which involved lots of traveling and train journeys. Our first stop was Birmingham to visit my gorgeous niece and nephew Brandon and Talayah, which involved a fun day at Sea World with sharks and giant turtles. We then visited Ross's family for a cosy gift exchange and christmas meal.

Next stop was down south to Poole, where we settled for the christmas period with my brother and his beautiful family. I have two nieces Tia (8) and Layla (1)... They kept us very amused despite Ross and I catching flu :( I mainly wore comfy clothes over christmas as I was so ill, but I did make good use of my new vintage tapestry bag which im in love with. Its the perfect traveling bag, big enough to hold all your essentials. Good news is we have lots of similar bags which we will be adding to our store in January.

We're now recuperating in Liverpool and kind of having a second christmas at home, which is nice. We opened each others presents yesterday and are going to spend today watching old christmas movies.

New year will be a quiet one for us as were still shifting our horrible flu. Any big plans for anyone ?
We wish you all a happy new year ... and look forward to connecting with you in 2011!

Rooftop Sunset...

We managed to catch this beautiful winter sunset on our rooftop and thought we'd take a few pictures. I always love when the sunlight is this colour, it's my favourite part of the day. Although it's freezing cold at the moment, one thing that's cool about winter is you get to wear loads of layers! Last weekend we went on a vintage treasure hunt around Liverpool and I was really lucky to come across this suede jacket with sheepskin lining - amazing find for me! I needed a cosy winter coat. :)

I'm really feeling the Christmas spirit this weekend!
We bought a little Christmas tree and took him home with us and picked some more trimmings. After that, we were so hungry we went down to the Christmas markets in Liverpool and bought Wild Boar, Ostrich burgers and Bratwurst hot dogs. Mmm! Then headed home and put up the decorations whilst drinking bailey's and eating mince pies.

We took these pictures the day after another photoshoot, so loads of new listings coming very soon!

Snowfall

These beautiful photos were taken on my train journey from Nottingham to Liverpool. Snow and countryside just looks so magical. Although we have had no snow in Liverpool, At least I was able to enjoy a weekend of it and absorb this amazing scenery.

Hope your having a fabulous weekend ? We have chosen our christmas tree from a local market which were going to decorate today, whilst drinking mulled wine and sampling our first mince pie of the year !
