Vintage tea party...

Here are some of the photos from my sisters vintage tea party as mentioned here. Me and Ross were full of cold and didn't have the energy to take as many photos as usual which was a shame. We still had a wonderful time seeing everybody and eating lots of yummy cakes!

What we wore: On cloudy sunday

How does the weekend end so quickly?! Hope you all had a good one? Ours was very relaxed... I wasn't feeling too great and we both couldn't seem to shift tiredness due to too much hard working last week I think. Saturday was beautiful so we soaked up the sun and went out for dinner, but in contrast to this Sunday was grey and gloomy.

We caught these photos just before it poured down with rain; outside what is known as the bombed out church (St. Lukes church). The top of the church was burned by an incendiary bomb in world war two. It has beautiful architecture, and there are frequently things going on inside such as music, art installations (including Yoko Ono's stairway to Heaven), and movie screenings where we watched Breakfast at Tiffanys on valentines day. After running from the rain we went to see Woody Allen's new film  You will meet a tall dark stranger. We loved it :)

As the weather is getting warmer I got to wear my new 60s mod vintage coat. I have been patiently waiting to wear this - I love the peter pan collar and the plaid minty green fabric, this was definitely a keeper from our stock for me! Ross wore one of his favorite western shirts which has the most amazing embroidery detail on the back. Still working on our brand new store. Will keep you updated! :)

Studio bound...

We have spent a large part of this week in our studio shooting for our new website which is nearly complete! It's been an intense week consisting of shooting our new collection for spring/summer, building our new site, and obsessively listing to Little joy. Whenever me and Ross work on projects together there usually seems to be a band or artist we constantly listen to, which is quite a nice memory to look back on once the project is complete.

Of course we had the time to act silly by dancing and posing in front of the camera for the fun of it. Here are a few of these shots... some of them turned out quite sweet I guess. Any plans over the weekend?
The sun has been out all week in Liverpool, but of course it disappears over the weekend... typical! I am just about to make brunch then we are going to head out for a wander around town. Maybe a walk around the docks followed by dinner somewhere, we shall see. Have a great weekend all :)

It's been a busy week for us, we have been working extra hard on our soon to be new vintage website! We've had so much fun working creatively together. There have been times of frustration, small strops (mainly by me), and a lack of sleep, but it's all been worth it and we are almost there! I really admire Ross's patience for working out all the complicated web coding etc... thanks Ross :)

We will keep you updated with our progress we should be launching our new website within the next couple of weeks fingers crossed!

We would love to share more images on our blog of those of you who buy our vintage from The Attic People shop. Please email us if you would like to be featured on our blog, we would love to hear from you!

Nottingham Part 1: Outfit post and meeting a special little boy

Just arrived back home home from the most amazing long weekend away in Nottingham. We payed a very special visit to my sister Sam, her fiance Mark, Betty the dog and our new two month old nephew... precious Louie! We had the best time hanging out, listening to Marks fantastic music collection, being overly spoilt by my sisters incredible cooking, taking a few nice trips into Nottingham and fitting in as many cuddles with Louie as possible!

My sister has a wonderful house full of gorgeous vintage furniture, fabrics and quirky hand made items; it makes a great backdrop for taking outfit posts as everything is so visually pleasing to the eye.

Ross took control of taking the majority of photos on this trip (Hence the fact he is not in many of them!), he did such a great job it's been hard to whittle them down. It doesn't help with such a cute nephew constantly pulling the most wonderful expressions!

I was quite proud of myself for traveling so light, I tried to incorporate lots of light layering with a sensible warm winter coat; this worked out just perfect. The top I'm wearing is a new one I brought recently from primark, It's very comfortable, easy to mix with other garments and only cost around £8! I don't tend to buy too much from the high street as were buying endless beautiful vintage pieces, but I will admit it feels quite good to have a brand new item in my wardrobe now and then.

It was Such a lovely moment when Louie fell asleep in my arms, am I feeling broody? Yes... but a few more years down the line would be a perfect. I have four beautiful nieces and nephews to keep me entertained for now! More Nottingham photos will follow soon. Hope you all are having a good week?

What I wore today; whilst the sun was shining

The sun was shining here in Liverpool today. It was nice to see so many smiling faces... If only it could be sunny here in England everyday!

So... despite the bitter cold, me and Ross made the most of the sunshine and braved lunch on our rooftop. We're lucky to have such amazing views of the city; it really does make a difference living high up.

So this is what I wore today... I went for a more spring inspired dress for the sun's sake - not for my own warmth but it still felt good - and my all time favourite leather jacket (so cute with its white peter pan collar). It was one of my many amazing finds from Beacons Closet Vintage Store in Brooklyn ( I lived in NY back in 2004). I took a year out of University to work with Tom Cody Design for 6 months... had the best time ever, and would love to live in NY again someday!

We have a fun filled weekend planned which I'm really excited about (we will post about it next week). Hope you enjoy your weekend and make the most of the sun if your lucky enough.
