Introducing...Vintage Cushions

The Attic People, Vintage cushions” title=

These new vintage cushions are the result of that little project I mentioned a week or so ago. We are now selling these one off cushion cover pillows on The Attic People Vintage online. Hopefully we will be updating these regularly but as for now this colourful selection is available to buy just in time for Christmas! They are made by my own hands using vintage fabrics with cotton backings... hope you like :)

How cool would it be to own a bike made from your own name? I'm really liking this concept by graphic designer Juri Zaech :)

What with all the awful pointless riots breaking out across London our blog has not been our main priority. For now I just wanted to share these pretty photographs by Lukasz Wierzbowski which I came across through the lovely Daydream Lily blog. She takes such pretty creative photographs... I especially like the ones with flowers and net curtains.

Lets hope things improve here in London, Its such a sad site to see.

Sweetest vintage note pads...

The Attic People Vintage” title=

Excuse our lack of posts lately. Last week was spent traveling up and down the country visiting family and sourcing new vintage clothes for The Attic People vintage. I had a wonderful time seeing everyone but It is nice to be back home again.

I will be sure to spend some time over the next few days catching up on your inspiring blogs. I am busy designing prints this week so I will try my best to squeeze some delayed outfit posts from the weekend tomorrow!

As for now how sweet are these notepads? I discovered Miss Book Maker on Etsy a while ago and have meaning to share these pretty note pads which are hand made using vintage children's books, vintage fabrics and some nifty stitching. I use to love making books, folders and stickers when I was a young girl...what did like to make?

Collier & Campbell and vintage Liberty prints

As promised here are some photos from the Collier & Campbell exhibition we took last weekend down at the South Bank. As I'm a print designer myself this was a "must see" exhibition for me... and Ross really enjoyed it too. The exhibition was to celebrate 50 years of their wonderful textile designs. These two talented ladies designed iconic prints for the likes of Jaeger, Yves St Laurent, Cacherel, Habitat and Liberty of London prints.

My favourite designs were the earliest prints from the 60s and 70s... very much like some of my own dresses from that period :)
Below: Amazing colour palette's and birds designed in the 70s for Habitat.
Below: Fabrics designed for Liberty of London
I will be leaving Ross this weekend to visit my Sister, Mark and my sweet sweet nephew Louie in Nottingham and monday we have a big buying trip scheduled so expect lots of new vintage soon at The Attic People Vintage soon. Better go pack now!

Have a great weekend my lovely readers :)

Suno Resort 2012

Hope your enjoying the weekend! Out of all the 2010 Resort collections Suno is probably one of my favourites. I admire the bold daring prints, the quirky styling and accessories and the fact that the collection has a bright cheerful Hawaiian theme. Any resort collections that stand out for you?

Holiday Weekend in London!

Our adventures in London are continuing and we're really enjoying discovering this great city. This weekend we've been out with friends on a birthday party barbeque, I had my best friend visit, and we had a lovely trip out to The British Museum London. The city is buzzing, and I'm still getting used to finding my way around, and the various Tube and Bus routes.

The British Museum is the oldist public museum in the world and is filled with amazing history from civilizations thousands of years old. We couldn't help but notice part of the new Austrailian exhibit which is physically replicated parts of their fantastic landscape! Also if one of your guilty pleasures is watching The Apprentice you may have noticed they began one of the episodes here.

Hope everyone has had a great Bank Holiday Weekend!

Charlotte Taylor: Print magic!

Where has this week gone! It feels like the fastest week ever...anyone else feel the same? Maybe I'm just adjusting more to the fast pace of London life. We have spent another week un-packing, setting up our studio space and going through all the necessary mundane tasks involved with moving house and cities. I have also just listed some new stock in The Attic People shop take a peek there are some amazing vintage gems to see and were offering a 10% discount on all items till the end of the month, just type SUNNY99 at the checkout. Now I just need to get back into the swing of a normal routine regarding working ... nearly  there!

Anyone like animal prints? I wanted to share this fashion collection from Charlotte Taylor AW11. I'm in love with the colour palette and all these quirky ant, elephant, penguin, lobster and robot prints. I find the lookbook very inspiring too,  look at the turbans ... I already own this polka dot vintage turban, and a knitted one, now I'm on the search for one with a more interesting print. What do you think of this collection?

Welcome and thank you to our new followers! It's great to be connecting with so many talented and stylish people here :). There has been a little lack in outfit posts due to us rushing around like a mad couple launching theatticpeople.co.uk this week. We are so pleased with the response we have had from everyone & we appreciate all your support and sweet comments. Now we've launched our new site, our next new adventure is to begin our new range of hand printed interiors products and maybe bags!

I was happily introduced to strathcona stockings through the Urban Outfitters blog a few days ago and haven't been able to get these beautiful socks out of my head! As a print designer I'm naturally drawn to patterns and colours and these floral prints tick all the boxes for me. The freshness and summery feel to their look book is so pretty and quirky at the same time. I am contemplating on buying a pair but still can't make up my mind on which colour I like best, it's definitely between the two above. They have more colour options and prints on their site, what do you think? Would be interested to know your favourite print and how you would choose to style them!

Have a great weekend all. There will be a new outfit post to follow shortly and dont forget 15% discount off all shop items to celebrate the launch of our site till next wednesday. All you need to do is type PARROTS11 into the checkout.

I'm feeling inspired by STORY today. A great site consisting of half a gallery and half a boutique. You can buy lovely items to wear and use for your home. I fell in love with these images, they make me want to sit and make mood boards all day long! A great place to stop by when you get the chance :)
