The lovely Rebecca, the girl behind the The clothes Horse has been wearing another one of our pretty dresses from our new online store The Attic People vintage. I love the way she has hemmed and styled this vintage oriental denim dress, I think she looks adorable. See more photos and her full post here.

I love to see how people style our vintage clothes... It's very exciting for us!

Seeing these images from the Pom Pom Factory has certainly brightened up my monday morning.  All these colours made me smile. It's been a beautiful hot weekend here in London and the sun is still shining strongly. I think I may have to take the afternoon off to soak up some more of this sunshine while it lasts! Good weekend?

A little bit of green...

This is one of my favourite all time vintage 50s dresses from my own wardrobe. I have owned this beauty for a couple of years now, It's travelled with me to Paris, Milan, Switzerland and Bali... so I have many fond memories wearing this dress :)

I originally sourced this for The Attic People Vintage but it ended up fitting me so perfectly I had to keep it. I just love the forest green with the colourful pops of colour and the pretty florals. This will certainly be a keeper forever!

These photos were taken around Spitalfields market. Every thursday the stalls are mainly vintage home wares, fabrics, books and a few clothes stalls. I brought a few nice things which I will share with you soon.

So the weekend is here already! Any interesting plans? The weather is still very temperamental and rainy here in London so I think we will make weekend decisions based on the weather. We will be watching Glastonbury tonight on tv... I'm not wishing I was there; thinking of all the mud already. I have been to Glastonbury in the past but really prefer the smaller festivals that are a little more laid back. Last year we went to Latitude which I would very much recommend. What's your favourite summer festival... be it tiny small or ridiculously large?

Wearing: Vintage 50s floral dress, Topshop socks, sandals from chairty shop, vintage suede bag from The Attic People Vintage.

Orla Kiely AW11

I'm a massive fan of Orla Kiely. Being a print designer myself I have always been inspired by Orla's collections. I am currently reading this book which is beautiful to look at, and gives you a great insight into how the brand started and flourished into what it is today.

Im in love with the new AW11 video. The clothes and models are beautiful, It's  quirky, fun and a little eerie at the same time. Do you like?

What I wore: A Brazilian Saturday in London

Saturday was very strange weather for June. One minute it's pouring with rain with grey clouds the next the sun was shining with blue skies, and the temperature was completely up and down! It becomes a hard decision to know what to wear when the weather is like this. I made a pretty good decision in the end by wearing light layers and a coat that is easy to hold when the sun appears. Any more good tips for unpredictable weather dressing anyone?

Despite the temperamental weather we had a pretty jam packed day full of more London adventures. The day consisted of browsing around central London (which was a bad idea on a packed touristy saturday!) the best part was a memorable Brazilian lunch in vibrant and more peaceful neals yard in Covent Garden. To escape the crowds we ventured back to east london for some cocktails and and some good English chippy chips drenched in salt and vinegar for tea.

I also got outfit snapped for a Japanese website which I will share with you if they email me the information. :)

What I wore: Feeling rather 60s...

These photos were taken on the evening of my birthday. After our day out we refreshed ourselves and I had a quick outfit change. This is one of the dresses I purchased from Portabella market... a bargain at just £5! I love the cute white collar and ditsy floral print. I paired the dress with this vibrant mustard yellow coat my sister gave to me at the beginning of the year. I'm really liking shades of mustard and teal at the moment, I go through phases with colours... I don't think I could ever have a particular favourite colour; there are so many wonderful colours that inspire me all the time it would be so hard to narrow it down to just one. Do you have a favourite colour or does yours constantly change like mine?

Let me introduce you to my dear friend Neil (above) We met at University back in 2003 and he has been one of my best friends since! We had a delicious thai meal with Ross at yumyum in Stoke Newington (famous for being on Gordon Ramseys best restaurants) followed by a few drinks at the Jolly Butcher... A very nice end to a fantastic day :)

Thanks Ross for taking all the photos x

p.s.The background I'm standing against is around the corner from our new London pad and very close to Lord Sugar's old primary school. The Apprentice has to be both mine and Ross's favourite programmes at the moment so we were pretty excited to where he grew up!

The clothes Horse wearing The Attic People vintage!

Picture of rebecca wearing attic people vintage dress” title=

Yesterday beautiful Rebecca from The Clothes Horse featured our pretty 60s victorian peplum mini dress which she chose from www.theatticpeople.co.uk just a couple weeks ago! You can see her stunning post all the way from the USA here. Rebecca talks about how amazing it is that fate can bring you the most perfect dress with with such perfect fit.

Im so glad she picked this dress it looks adorable on her and I agree it fits her like a glove:)

I seem to have great luck myself with vintage clothing, I find the fits of old clothes were much better suited to my body shape. What do you think?

A birthday to remember!

Saturday was my birthday (yes me and ross are both Gemini's - our birthdays are 11 days apart!). We often plan a holiday to celebrate our birthdays, last year we spoiled ourselves and flew to magical bali. This year as we have just moved to London we both chose a day to indulge in a few of our favourite things. Here are a few of mine :)

Visiting English tea rooms: We went to Soho's secret tea rooms and it was just lovely. We had tea (of course! Ross had Darjeeling), a round of very English salmon and cream cheese sandwiches (with cut-off crusts), Cream tea (scones with fresh cream and jams), and an amazing lemon meringue cup cake. The food was delicious and the atmosphere delightful. I felt as though I had stepped back in time to the 1940s :)

A wander around Portobello market, where the sun came out, we experienced more tasty food and browsed through antiques and vintage clothes... I purchased  two new dresses which I will preview later in the week.

After a beautiful day out we went home for birthday cake and a quick outfit change before meeting my best friend Neil for dinner at Yumyum - one of my favourite Thai restaurants in the UK - and then drinks. It was a perfect day and I was treated like a princess :)

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Shanghai Inspiration and sandal hunting...

Wow another week almost over... I wish we could magic more hours in the day! Excuse the lack of outfit posts, we are still settling into London and getting back in the flow of our work routine etc, but hopefully there will be more soon.

Its my birthday this saturday so we will do our very best to capture some of my birthday celebrations with you. Ross has some surprises planned so I'm getting pretty excited now!

I have been internet browsing today in between listing lots of new items for theatticpeople.co.uk and got drawn into Topshop's site as usual. I love their Shanghai oriental theme, the prints are so pretty I really want those black cherry blossom trousers. Im also on the hunt for some new summer sandals my Swedish Hasbeens which I brought last summer are starting to wear a little now. I like the three pairs above from Topshop... which do you prefer? I think I like the mustard ones best :)

ps. We are offering 15% of all our vintage over at The Clothes Horse till the end of june :)
