What we wore: In an English country garden

Hello! Sorry for our infrequent posts lately. As well as being busy finalizing our new website and filling it with our wonderful new collection of vintage clothes, there has been an unexpected change in our lives which will be revealed shortly (No I'm not pregnant!).

These photos were taken over Easter around the Liverpool Anglican cathedral. It was such a beautiful day, the flowers were in full bloom, the weather was warm and sunny and all the insects were out including bumble bees. England is such a lovely place to be on a sunny day, me and Ross had the  English country garden song stuck in our head, I love that song!

How did your Easter weekend go? I hope this amazing British weather continues... I have a feeling we're going to have a great summer! Speaking of Englishness we enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding on t.v yesterday in true British style with a good cup of tea and a slice of cake. I thought Kate Middleton looked amazing in her Sarah Burton dress, how adorable was her veil? I thought Prince William looked very smart too, it will surely be a day to remember for us. What were your thoughts on the Royal wedding?

The dress I'm wearing is from Topshop (3 years ago) from the pile of clothes I re-discovered a few weeks back. I'm so glad I sorted through that pile of clothes, I feel like I have a new wardrobe! Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday! Don't forget to check back for our site launch next week... there will be discounts and a giveaway!

Hi it's Ross... It's been a while since I posted. It's been a little hectic last few days. I've just been busy with our new website which we're both now listing away for. We're both really excited!

Yesterday was a great day. The weather was beautiful here hope it was good for you. We had ice creams, drinks in the sun, barbeque, etc, etc. All accompanied by a great rooftop party on our building, and wrapped up with an electrical storm at the end of the day!

It was great to put some summer clothes on! I'd almost forgotten what summer felt like. I got to wear my summer hat which I haven't had a chance to wear since we went to Bali on holiday! Today we're off out to catch up with friends and indulge in the sunshine again!

What I wore Friday: On one of those days!

These photos were taken on Friday. As mentioned in the title I had one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong! They were small things such as going out to post items and forgetting my purse, not sleeping well the night before, missing a delivery (because the courier did not buzz up to our apartment) and accidently breaking things etc, etc! On the scale of things that are happening in the world I shouldn't complain, but I guess we all have frustrating days like this right?

I had to complete a years worth book keeping for my accountant on friday and Saturday which was grueling (completing a years worth of dreaded numbers and charts at the end of the year was a big mistake). My brain is definitely more powerful on the right creative side!

On the positive side there were some enjoyable moments of the day which included wearing this outfit - a mini 70s vintage dress, vintage cardigan, tapestry bag and floral belt with brogue shoes - and being able to leave the house without needing a coat. Also my wonderful Ross cheering me up by taking me to Leaf (our favourite cafe ) for blooming floral jasmine tea and chocolate cake, and spending the evening watching 70s film French Connection and eating Cadburys mini eggs. Wow... be sure to check the link for cadburys they have such a cute site up at the moment devoted to their easter chocolate.

So after working till 9pm last night all my accounts are now finally out of the way (sigh)! Today will be Marisa and Ross time :) Not sure what were going to do with the day but it will be nice to just relax! Hope your all enjoying your weekend?

What we wore: On sunny saturday

We had the most glorious weather here in Liverpool over the weekend (quite freakish for this time of year!). It was so warm I changed into a light cotton summer dress and fetched my sunglasses and sun cream after taking these photos.

A fair amount of time this weekend was spent eating ice cream, lunch and breakfast, reading, and giggling on our rooftop. It's a very peaceful place to be, so high up in the middle of a city center. I'm so glad we made the most of the sun as it's reverted back to colder rainy weather today...typical English switching weather!

Last week I decided to take the plunge and hand wash a bag of clothes that had been sitting in the back of my wardrobe for more than a year (I hate hand-washing!). I was so pleased I did as I re-discovered this amazing Celia Birtwell for Topshop blouse  I had completely forgotten about. Next on my to do list is an even bigger case of clothes to repair /hem which I'm going to try and crack on with as soon as I have the time. Anyone else tend to leave these things for longer than they should?

I thought Ross looked great in his chosen outfit, I love his vintage check western shirt... it even has embroidery detail under the collar. Ross finds it quite hard to find unique menswear on the high street so incorporating some vintage into his wardrobe is a great way to acheive a more interesting individual look.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend? :)

Hugo Lugo

I recently discovered the works of Mexican born artist Hugo Lugo. These are all paintings can you believe? Have a look at his website to see more. His work really draws me into the canvas and makes my imagination run wild! I love the clever playfulness with scale, the surreal feel, and that each piece of work tells its own little story :)

What we wore: On cloudy sunday

How does the weekend end so quickly?! Hope you all had a good one? Ours was very relaxed... I wasn't feeling too great and we both couldn't seem to shift tiredness due to too much hard working last week I think. Saturday was beautiful so we soaked up the sun and went out for dinner, but in contrast to this Sunday was grey and gloomy.

We caught these photos just before it poured down with rain; outside what is known as the bombed out church (St. Lukes church). The top of the church was burned by an incendiary bomb in world war two. It has beautiful architecture, and there are frequently things going on inside such as music, art installations (including Yoko Ono's stairway to Heaven), and movie screenings where we watched Breakfast at Tiffanys on valentines day. After running from the rain we went to see Woody Allen's new film  You will meet a tall dark stranger. We loved it :)

As the weather is getting warmer I got to wear my new 60s mod vintage coat. I have been patiently waiting to wear this - I love the peter pan collar and the plaid minty green fabric, this was definitely a keeper from our stock for me! Ross wore one of his favorite western shirts which has the most amazing embroidery detail on the back. Still working on our brand new store. Will keep you updated! :)
