A day in pictures...

Iphone photos” title=

So me and ross spent the weekend in the Capital where we saw Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros at the old vic tunnels. We had such a great weekend and we both really enjoyed the gig. They were so much fun to watch and full of energy (just as I expected). I had been wanting to see this band for a while and they defiantly did not disappoint.

The photos are all from Saturday; a little taste of our day from Liverpool to London leading up to the gig. Ross will be writing more about the gig soon with clearer photos, I'm a little obsessed with my iphone apps at the moment! :)

Seventies Girl

I have fallen in love with the new Spring/Summer Topshop Collection what do you think? The pretty embroidered denim, printed floral shirts and strappy clog sandals just make me want to jump into summer outfits right now!

I'm loving these wide leg printed pants, they look so stylish and comfy at the same time. Which ones to choose... any favourites?

We are holding a beautiful tapestry bag giveaway over at the lovely cakies blog, be sure to check it out for a chance to win!

Thought we would share some more photos from our Nottingham trip as we had so much fun! These photos were taken last sunday. Our day went something like this: We woke up to a perfect breakfast of ham poached eggs and pastries made by my amazing sister, cuddle time with little louie, a visit to Nottingham contemporary art gallery, afternoon drinkies in the gallery cafe, delicious afternoon tea and cakes, back to my sisters for a roast dinner, more cuddles with Louie and we finished the day by relaxing  and watching The Big Lebowski. It was the most perfect sunday :)

The dress Im wearing has to be a favourite of mine, it has so many gorgeous details. I recently hemmed it and Im so glad because I'm wearing it so much more now.

Any good plans this weekend? Were so excited as were going to see Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros tomorrow in London. Ross has been in London for the last few days visiting a friend so Im pretty excited to see my boy too!

Nottingham Part 1: Outfit post and meeting a special little boy

Just arrived back home home from the most amazing long weekend away in Nottingham. We payed a very special visit to my sister Sam, her fiance Mark, Betty the dog and our new two month old nephew... precious Louie! We had the best time hanging out, listening to Marks fantastic music collection, being overly spoilt by my sisters incredible cooking, taking a few nice trips into Nottingham and fitting in as many cuddles with Louie as possible!

My sister has a wonderful house full of gorgeous vintage furniture, fabrics and quirky hand made items; it makes a great backdrop for taking outfit posts as everything is so visually pleasing to the eye.

Ross took control of taking the majority of photos on this trip (Hence the fact he is not in many of them!), he did such a great job it's been hard to whittle them down. It doesn't help with such a cute nephew constantly pulling the most wonderful expressions!

I was quite proud of myself for traveling so light, I tried to incorporate lots of light layering with a sensible warm winter coat; this worked out just perfect. The top I'm wearing is a new one I brought recently from primark, It's very comfortable, easy to mix with other garments and only cost around £8! I don't tend to buy too much from the high street as were buying endless beautiful vintage pieces, but I will admit it feels quite good to have a brand new item in my wardrobe now and then.

It was Such a lovely moment when Louie fell asleep in my arms, am I feeling broody? Yes... but a few more years down the line would be a perfect. I have four beautiful nieces and nephews to keep me entertained for now! More Nottingham photos will follow soon. Hope you all are having a good week?

The sun was shining here in Liverpool today. It was nice to see so many smiling faces... If only it could be sunny here in England everyday!

So... despite the bitter cold, me and Ross made the most of the sunshine and braved lunch on our rooftop. We're lucky to have such amazing views of the city; it really does make a difference living high up.

So this is what I wore today... I went for a more spring inspired dress for the sun's sake - not for my own warmth but it still felt good - and my all time favourite leather jacket (so cute with its white peter pan collar). It was one of my many amazing finds from Beacons Closet Vintage Store in Brooklyn ( I lived in NY back in 2004). I took a year out of University to work with Tom Cody Design for 6 months... had the best time ever, and would love to live in NY again someday!

We have a fun filled weekend planned which I'm really excited about (we will post about it next week). Hope you enjoy your weekend and make the most of the sun if your lucky enough.

ETRO Fall 2011

Love, love, love the Etro fall 2011 collection; one of my favorite designers I'm always excited to see. I was lucky enough to sell some of my own designs to this family label at the start of my career as a print designer!

The print and colourways never cease to amaze me, and the eclectic random mix of fabric and textures really draw me in to these garments. I just adore the cream dress with the large scale paisley print. Not sure if my pockets could stretch to the price of a single Etro dress, but I will surely be on the look out for a similar vintage one. Any favorites designers that stand out for you so far this season?

Must get some sleep now I have been staying up way too late this week! Sweet dreams :)

We had the day off sunday. Marisa woke me up with coffee & pancakes for breakfast, mmmm! After that we took a nice stroll to the Walker art gallery. It was really great to get out and have a break, and kinda nostalgic for us because the last time we came here was one of our first dates together some time ago now!

After braving the harsh cold and wind to get there, we sat down for a much needed hot cappuccino and slice of amazing coffee cake at the gallery café. It's a big old art gallery with exhibitions of modern art by John Moores University students and a wonderful collection of classical paintings by old masters. So some old, some new. To end the day we watched Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky for the 2nd time with some Häagen-Dazs praline and cream... All in all a great day out!

Marisa: Vintage Fur collar coat, Topshop tights ring and necklace, Vintage boots, Vintage tapestry bag, 70s Vintage dress

Ross: Vintage grey leather jacket, Topman jeans,  Vintage cowboy western shirt, Vintage hat, Shoes from Dune
