A bit of BIBA for George...

I was surprised and excited whilst looking through a copy of  Look Magazine last week to see that Barbara Hulanicki (Iconic 60s designer and Biba legend) has created a line for George at Asda. Many designers are working with high street stores to produce fusion ranges but I am particularly looking forward to seeing this collection in the flesh. You can see Biba influences from tailored trousers to 70's- style tops, maxis and many adorable prints. All very affordable starting from just £8!

You can view the whole collection online here and it will be available in stores from the 29th Nov. My favorite pieces are the animal print bow dress and the purple printed ruffle blouse (above) what's your favorite?

Now we can all have a little bit of Biba in our wardrobe :)

East London wandering

Jacket: Vintage   Hat: Vintage   Tights: Topshop    Boots: Market

I went down to London last weekend to catch up with some dear friends of mine. The weekend was pretty chilled... full of wandering around London's East end, drinking cocktails, sunday lunch roasts and lots of nattering. Although London is only a couple of hours on the train I must admit I do not visit enough, maybe this is because me and Ross are planning to move there soon !

I caught a very early train on the saturday morning and headed straight to my friend Neil's in Stoke Newington (East London). We had breakfast, and headed out. I love the fact there is so much going on in London, you can walk down the street and come across unexpected things that just brighten up your day. We started off by visiting a small local flea market followed a long walk through Dalston, Hackney, Brick lane through to Shoreditch. We Spent a fair amount of time at the vibrant Broadway Market where we rummaged through vintage clothes, had mint lamb burgers for lunch and browsed through magical book shops.

We visited charming Hackney farm and came across the The Powder Room which is a vintage style beauty parlor (which will be sure to appear on my birthday list in the future). There's lots of creativity around East London with amazing street art, small boutiques, quirky cafes and art gallery's. We rounded off the afternoon with tea and cake which couldn't have been more perfect as my feet were pretty sore by this point !

I moved to London in 2005 after graduating for six months and was actually born there, so being back in London again was wonderful. I left feeling highly inspired and very itchy for me and Ross to get there very soon. I hope you enjoy the photos... get to East London if you haven't been! You'll be sure to find lots of surprises. :)

Our first post...

We love blogs! We've been inspired by you bloggers for some time now, and been eager to join in. Well here it is finally... our first blog post!!

We are a couple currently living together in Liverpool (soon to be London we hope!). Our names are Marisa and Ross. We work in fashion design and illustration, and have been running our vintage clothes shop - "The Attic People" for nearly a year now.

We want to run a blog to share inspiration with you guys!

We'll be writing fashion articles on street style, personal outfit posts and designers, boutiques or brands we love. When we explore new places we'll be writing and posting images from our experiences, and also any interesting things that happen in our everyday life. From time to time we'll post personal art and design work we've created, as well as reviews on films and bands we've seen. We'll also be updating you on new store items, special offers, and give-aways.

We're obsessed with all things vintage. Its been a passion of ours for many years. The clothes at The Attic People, are hand picked by us. We choose items with reference to street style, personal inspiration and current trends to keep up to date and relevant with today's society.

We would love to hear from you and receive comments on our posts or any ideas on what you would like to see on our blog. If you purchase any gems within our store it would be great to do an outfit post on you. Please feel free to email us at atticpeople@yahoo.co.uk !
